What is Playback?
Playback is a way of sharing game design research.
It's about sharing what participants have created through a platform that protects anonymity.
A conference attended in 2023 suggested that research has a poor track record of giving feedback to participants of research. More specifically, with children and young people, they may want to follow up or be able to show off their work.

Therefore, the purpose of this website is to record research conducted by Michael John Saiger that has involved, or impacted, end-users. Hopefully, this website will serve as a portal to showcase workshops, tools and prototypes developed.

About the Research
Design Based Research
Design based research (DBR) is a repeatable creative process. It focuses on developing knowledge and learning new ways we can engage with people.
Game Design
How we design games is a complicated process, particularly when we look to design games for other purposes, like health and education
User involvement methods
The main reason for this website. Involving users in the design of games can help educate participants, learn about likes and preferences, and provide new solutions to how games are designed. The core of this research is understanding how to succesfully involve young people in the design of games.
